About Animal Aid
Animal Aid is the UK's largest animal rights group
and one of the longest established in the world, having been founded
in 1977.
We campaign peacefully against all forms of animal
abuse and promote a cruelty-free lifestyle. We investigate and expose
animal cruelty, and our undercover investigations and other evidence
are often used by the media, bringing these issues to public attention.
On this website you'll find factfiles and reports from Animal Aid
campaigns - from animal
experiments to humane
research, factory farming
to vegetarianism, sport
and leisure and the pet trade
to wildlife. You can keep up-to-date
with the latest campaign news, take
part in urgent actions, order
action packs and even become an Animal
Aid member.

Education
The Animal Aid Education Department
is the country's leading education department dealing with animal
rights. We provide a comprehensive range of resources
and services for teachers and students and a free termly education
newsletter. Our national network of school speakers offer free talks
on a wide range of topics including animal rights, animal experiments,
hunting and vegetarianism.
Resources
Animal Aid produces a wide range of campaign reports,
leaflets and factfiles,
plus educational and undercover videos,
many of which are available online. We take part in hundreds of
media interviews every year and distribute thousands of information
packs. We produce a quarterly magazine
in addition to a regular campaigners bulletin, and a sales catalogue
packed with cruelty-free products.
Living without cruelty
Animal Aid actively promotes cruelty-free
living - including simple, everyday steps we can all take to
reduce animal suffering. We organise Veggie
Month, which takes place every March, and the popular Christmas
Without Cruelty Fayre, the feelgood event of the year! And we
offer a wide range of animal-free products - suitable for both vegetarians
and vegans - by mail-order and through our online
shop.

Progress
Our annual campaigns generate media coverage and public awareness,
and include Veggie Month,
Horse Racing Awareness Week, and
the Mad Science Awards. Following
Animal Aid campaigns, John
Lewis has closed its shooting club and Focus
has pledged to cease all animal sales. We have blocked plans for
reptile zoos around
the country and for horse-drawn omnibuses in Oxford.
National network
Animal Aid members in the UK and abroad
receive a quarterly magazine
packed full of information and features. Our nationwide network
of groups helps to spread the message and we distribute a bi-monthly
bulletin for active campaigners. In every social group and across
the age range, people are looking for ways to live without causing
needless animal suffering. Please add your voice and join
online today.
Funding campaigns
We are more ambitious than ever - and we need your help. With each
new supporter, our voice becomes louder and we become more effective
on behalf of animals. However, as a not-for-profit organisation
we rely solely on donations from the public and Animal Aid members.
You can help Animal Aid today to ensure more successes tomorrow.
