HOW YOU CAN HELP

At Animal Aid we often receive calls from people who feel overwhelmed by the scale of animal exploitation and concerned that, as an individual, they are powerless to bring about change. In fact, the reverse is true.

The collective pressure applied by individuals using their consumer power has led to a revolution in the provision of vegetarian and vegan food, and cruelty-free products. Equally, by getting active in your spare time – even by writing a letter – you can help to ensure that animals are placed higher on the political and legal agenda. Here are a few ideas to help you to get started.

Join Animal Aid

Think about the products that you buy

Animal Aid provides a full range of cruelty-free toiletries and other merchandise by mail-order and through our online shop, and we can also help with information about which companies to buy from.

Go vegetarian

You'll be choosing a diet which is healthy, delicious and kinder to animals. We can help you with recipes and nutritional advice. See our special Veggie Month pages.

Help spread the message in your area

Animal Aid has over 100 local groups all over the UK who are always in need of an extra pair of hands to help organise leafleting, information stalls, demonstrations, fundraising events and cruelty-free exhibitions. Email us for details.

Don't buy from pet shops

Re-home a companion animal from a rescue shelter instead. Have her or him neutered to prevent more unwanted animals from being born.

Volunteer your help at a local animal sanctuary
