 |
FACTORY FARMING
In the UK alone, approximately 900 million animals are slaughtered for food each year - not including fish. |
 |
VEGETARIANISM
If you really care about animals, the best way you can help is to stop eating them! |
 |
HORSE RACING
Despite its glamorous image, commercial horse racing is a ruthless industry motivated by financial gain and prestige. |
 |
PHEASANT SHOOTING
Every year in Britain, some 35 million pheasants are mass produced inside hatcheries and rearing sheds. |
 |
LIVING WITHOUT CRUELTY
Many different ways in which individual people, in their own lives, can help end animal suffering. |
|
Animal Aid campaigns
Animal Aid is a dynamic and effective animal protection
group, campaigning peacefully against all forms of animal abuse.
On this website you'll find factfiles,
reports, videos
and news - from factory farming
to fur, from hunting to animal experiments - and you'll find out
how you can help animals - in laboratories, on factory farms, in
the pet trade and the wild, and much more.
Our hard working, talented volunteers spread the word through local
media, library displays, high street stalls, demos, school talks
and other initiatives. We support them with campaign materials and
guidance. To find out more about volunteering see the get
active section.
We produce educational films
and teachers' resources,
send out thousands of student packs
annually, give talks, organise speakers' workshops and participate
in debates. To find out more about
our work with schools see the education
section.
New resources include our
reports on horse racing,
pheasant shooting, livestock
markets, and the legalisation
of pet markets, plus the results of our survey into the provision
of vegetarian food in hospitals,
a postcard to support the EU chemical
test campaign, a poster on healthy
eating and vegetarianism, and an information
booklet for students on animal protection.
