HUNTING BILL IN AUTUMN

Following publication of its enquiry into the impact of hunting on rural life, the government has announced its intention to introduce its own Bill on hunting with hounds in the autumn.

MPs will be asked to vote on a series of options including an outright ban.

If, as seems likely, the Commons votes to outlaw hunting, progress is likely to be stifled in the pro-hunt House of Lords. It then remains to be seen whether New Labour will invoke the Parliament Act, allowing it to overrule the upper chamber.

Please write to your MP, asking him/her to vote for an outright ban when the new Bill is presented.
