PRIVATE MEMBERS BILL RECEIVES MASSIVE SUPPORT

The Private Member's Bill tabled by Michael Foster MP gained a historic victory for wildlife after UK MPs voted 411 to 151 in support of the Wild Mammals (Hunting With Dogs) Bill - the biggest ever vote for a private members' bill.

The Wild Mammals (Hunting With Dogs) Bill, which now goes on to its committee stage, seeks to outlaw the hunting of wild mammals - including hares, mink, stags and foxes - with dogs in the UK.

Many organisations, including Animal Aid have been campaigning for years to see these cruel and unnecessary 'sports' outlawed.

Political commentators believe that, with such a massive majority behind a ban, hunting with hounds will be banned within a few years.
