Eat This! Teenagers make ground-breaking
new video investigating the meat industry
When Animal Aid threw down the gauntlet to teenagers
to make their own video about the reality of the meat industry,
four fearless young people with very different opinions decided
that this was too good an opportunity to miss.
Eat This!, the movie, is the end result of their
hard work and groundbreaking revelations. It is available, free
of charge, from Animal Aid, either on VHS or DVD. Additionally,
the national campaign group will be sending the video and a Student
Activity booklet to every secondary school in the UK as a resource
for the Citizenship and English modules. The accompanying Eat
This! website has behind-the-scenes facts and figures, and easy-to-digest
information for anyone who wants to change their diet for one which
is healthier and more humane.

Fatima: "When I saw the undercover footage I was disturbed.
I thought the way the animals were treated was very unnecessary
and we as humans should be ashamed."
|
Watch as the four teenagers embark on
their journey: Matt and Fatima are both stalwart meat-eaters; Camilla
is a long-term vegetarian; and Alan is the sole vegan of the group.
They come together to make this unique fly-on-the-wall documentary,
which sees them tackling farmers and their own consciences alike,
getting turfed out of supermarkets and creating an electric group-dynamic.
The 20 minute film is hosted by MTV music presenter, Tim Kash,
who probes the psychology and reactions of the participants and,
at the same time, makes viewers examine their own eating habits
and morals.
Additionally, the film is cut with jaw-dropping facts and figures
from health professionals, and eye-opening undercover footage from
inside factory farms.
Says Claudia Tarry, Head of Campaigns at Animal
Aid:
"We could not predict the immense success of the project.
It will leave you glued to your TV set - though you may have to
stop eating your dinner! The film does exactly what we hoped it
would do - it makes people think about who, rather than what, they
put into their mouth."

Matt was genuinely surprised by the hostile and secretive reaction
at the factory farm. "They are just chickens - not nuclear
weapons", he comments.

The video is being launched to celebrate
National Vegetarian Week (23 - 29 May) and is available either via
the website www.eatthis.org.uk,
