Go veggie!
If you really care about animals, the best way you
can help is to stop eating them! Each year in the UK alone approximately
900 million animals are farmed and killed for food - and that figure
doesn't include fish.
The average meat-eater consumes around 2000 animals
in their lifetime. Think of all the lives YOU will save simply by
turning vegetarian! As well as being more humane, vegetarianism
is healthy, environmentally friendly and a better way to use the
world's precious resources. By going veggie you'll be doing so much
good - for animals, your health, the planet and for other people,
too.
Every March is Veggie Month, during which we promote the benefits
of a veggie diet through health centres, retailers and libraries.
See our special Veggie Month
pages, which are packed full of information, including factfiles
on vegetarian nutrition,
animal welfare, and
going dairy free,
plus special features including 8
good reasons to go veggie, veggie
FAQ's, our landmark Veggie
Parents report and the Veggie
Recipe Collection.
And if you're veggie already - how about going
vegan? It's a piece of pie once you put your mind to it!
